Dr. Melanie Hingle
Melanie Hingle is a Professor in the School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness, College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences with joint faculty appointments in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the Bio5 Institute. Melanie is a community-engaged nutrition scientist, public health researcher, and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with expertise in the design and conduct of interventions to promote health and prevent or manage diet-sensitive diseases and conditions, including diabetes. At UArizona, Melanie has inhabited a number of elected and appointed leadership positions, including Co-Chair of the Carnegie Community Engaged University Application Working Group, and Vice Chair of the Faculty (2020-22). She currently serves as a member of the University Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Committee and was recently re-elected to Faculty Senate (2024-26 term) representing the College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences.
